Tuna Battle 2026

Tuna Battle 2026: First Time in Norway – and in Bømlo!

For the first time, Tuna Battle was held in Norway, and the host was none other than Bømlo. The event brought together fishing enthusiasts from near and far, and the interest was high.

Among the participants were guests who had driven a full 17 hours from Northern Norway to take part in the competition. They stayed with us at Westside Lodge, where they used our new Smartliner, a boat that is very well suited for this type of fishing.

Even though no bluefin tuna were caught this time, the fish were spotted several times over the weekend. This brought both hope and excitement for the participants who were on the hunt for the big catch.

A total of nine boats took part. All boats were equipped with GPS tracking, so the audience could follow their locations out at sea. This added extra engagement around the competition, especially when fish sightings were reported.

The first Norwegian edition of Tuna Battle was an exciting experience for both participants and spectators. We are already looking forward to next year’s competition and have great faith that this concept will grow even bigger in the years to come.
