Please follow the E 39 towards Stavanger. Cross over to Sandvikvåg in Halhjem.

On Stord island, drive along the east coast until you see the sign for “Bømlo”.

An automatic ‘toll booth’ has been set up on the bridge to the island of Bømlo. You can simply drive through it and pay directly in Svortland at the Esso gas station or you can use “AUTOPASS” during your stay. The statement comes by post after about 3 – 4 months and can be paid by bank transfer.

The newly built road on Bömlo is now complete. Please follow the RV 542 to the 2nd roundabout. Take the first exit towards Brandasund. After approx. 2.4 km you will reach the sign “Sæverudsøy”, please turn left here.

Drive along this road for about 1.5 km. Here are the parking spaces on the right and on the left it goes steeply down to the houses. You can drive to the houses for loading and unloading. After unloading, please park the car across the street in the large car park.

Dear Bömlo guests,

on the connection from Hirtshals to Stavanger / Bergen or from Hirtshals to Kristiansand, since February 1, 2016, the primary means of payment has been the Danish krone and no longer the Norwegian krone.

You can also pay with NOK and €, but get DKK back as change.

There is a spare bank cash machine on Stavangerfjord and Bergensfjord on deck 7 next to the reception. There you can withdraw NOK or DKK, but you have to pay attention to the correct currency setting.

The fees incurred depend on the house bank.

Important information about the Bömlofjord Tunnel on the E39

From 04/30/2013, the passage through the Bömlofjord tunnel on the E 39 will be toll-free. The system is then paid for.

However, as of May 1st, 2013, a new toll station was set up on the Spissoy Bridge.

For the new road construction on Bömlo, there is a charge of NOK 80 per passage on the bridge.
